Welcome to WEST HERR New York!

We are so excited to be a part of the West Herr Auto Group service and collision shop upgrades that are taking place now through next summer! In case you haven’t heard, West Herr announced last month that they are investing in their employee experience and adding air conditioning to their shops in time for summer 2022! Shop rooms that were previously unconditioned will now have air conditioning systems that include rooftop units, air handlers, ductless split units, and air curtains.
Our design team has been hard at work preparing for these projects. We’ve been custom building specific air conditioning systems for each individual service or collision shop. Work like this includes countless customer meetings, site surveys, and sketches. Each West Herr shop site is different. While we are relatively familiar with these sites because of our frequent service and maintenance visits, on a project this important, we don’t want to leave anything to chance.
What is a Site Survey and Why is it Important?
A site survey is a site visit that our estimators perform to examine site specific details in order to have a complete picture of a project. It’s really data collection – room sizes, wall thickness, ceiling heights, existing equipment and ductwork, room materials, space usage, insulation, roofing, etc. There is so much that factors into HVAC system design, and those details are gathered while on site doing a site survey.
At Allied Mechanical, there is no site survey cost – this visit is a valued part of our process to ensure that we deliver a quality project. The knowledge and particulars gained from these visits is so important! There is no point to designing a system around a rooftop unit if the site itself has a pitched roof or the structural steel is not rated to hold the extra weight. Sometimes the layout of a space can change with a temporary wall or even an added doorway, and these changes can drastically effect airflow. A site survey allows you to design a system around exactly what is existing in the space, not just what the last set of drawings show.
Typical West Herr Service Shop Air Conditioning Install Project
Allied Mechanical already has a few of these air conditioning install projects under our belt – we’ve already completed two of these projects at two different West Herr dealerships.
At West Herr Subaru in Orchard Park, NY, we installed a new 3 ton air conditioning system to cool the service area. This work was completed at the beginning of the Summer 2021, so the mechanics had cooling all summer long!
At West Herr Lincoln in Getzville, NY, we installed two new Trane 5 ton air conditioning systems to cool their service and parts area. This project was completed at the beginning of Fall 2021 and was one of the first service areas to be prepped and ready for a cool, cool summer.
West Herr Ford in Getzville, NY was a big one. This site not only got a cooling upgrade, but a heating one as well! Allied installed four 5 ton cooling rooftop units, and in addition, replaced four split (heating & cooling) systems. This site project is ongoing and will be a huge comfort upgrade for not only the mechanics in the service shop and parts area, but for the office personnel and customer base as well!
