Indoor Air Quality
Because the winters in Western New York are so long and cold, homes are generally sealed off to the outside elements much of the year. But by trying to keep the cold air out, you're also keeping dust and airborne bacteria in, resulting in allergies and/ or illness.
Warm & Fuzzy offers several ways to increase the air quality in your home:
- High efficiency filters
- Electronic air cleaners
- Ultraviolet light units
- Heat recovery ventilators (HRVs), commonly known as air-to-air heat exchangers
- Humidifiers - The air tends to be very dry inside homes with forced air furnaces. This dry air can cause static electricity, dry skin, and even bloody noses. The dryer air also feels cooler to the skin, which may cause you to be uncomfortable in lower temperature rooms. Adding a humidifier to the system can solve many of these problems. At Warm & Fuzzy, we install only pass-through humidifiers, which means that any water not used for humidification is drained from the unit so there is no standing water. Minerals from the evaporated water are deposited on a replaceable pad or flushed down the drain, minimizing maintenance.
